Caribbean Honeymoon

Paul and I were fortunate enough to be able to take our honeymoon on a cruise to the Caribbean. This was a seven day cruise aboard the Carnival Victory ship, and we went to a different island each day!

To begin our adventure, we had to take a red-eye flight from Phoenix to Charlotte, North Carolina, then on to Puerto Rico. After not getting very much sleep on the flights, Paul and I were exhausted, but running on the excitement of being in the Caribbean. Once we finally got to our cabin on the ship, we pretty much slept until dinner time. Then, there was a big send-off party when we left the dock that evening

The first island we stopped at was St. Thomas. Here, Paul and I got the chance to go kayaking through the mangroves and explore the beach area.

The next stop on our cruise was to Dominica, where we got to hike through a beautiful rain forest, and swim in a natural springs pool. I couldn't get Paul to jump in the water with me, so he just took pictures. That evening, we got all dressed up for dinner!

Barbados was the next island that we traveled to. Here, Paul and I got to sail on a catamaran to an area of the ocean where we were allowed to swim with the sea turtles. Then we just relaxed on the beach...ah, paradise!

Then our fun-ship took us the island of St. Lucia. This was our favorite island of the trip because it was so beautiful with all the lush, green mountains, and crystal clear waterfalls. We took a bike ride to the top of the mountain, then hiked down to another natural springs pool for some swimming.

We then traveled to Antigua, where we got to go horseback riding through the town and on the beach. Now, for those of you who know Paul, this was a big deal to get him on a horse since he's a little afraid of riding them. He did it though, for me, but I don't think he'll go it again anytime soon.

The final stop on our adventure was to the island of St. Kitts. Here, we took a bus ride to a private beach area, where Paul and I were able to soak in the last day in the Caribbean sipping on mojitos and playing in the ocean.

Paul and I had an absolutely wonderful time on our cruise! This was Paul's first trip outside of the United States, and I think he's been bitten by the travel bug. We hope to share more of these adventures together in the future, as well as be able to share them with all of you!

Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same

After five years of dating, going through the ups and downs, the struggles and successes, we finally decided to tie the knot.

Our wedding day was truly magical! On May 23, 2009, surrounded by family and friends, Paul and I exchanged vows and committed our lives to each other.

I thought that when this day came I would be scared or anxious, wondering how this was going to change my life. However, marrying Paul was a very reassuring experience. I was marrying my best friend, my soul mate.

Everything went very smoothly, from walking down the aisle...

...to the kiss...

...the dancing...

...the toasts...

...cutting the cake....

...the final send-off...

This is the day that started the rest of our lives together. We were very blessed to be able to share it with the people we love!

Welcome to our blog!

So I finally decided to jump on this blogging bandwagon and try it out for myself. Paul and I have friends and family all over the country, so I thought this would be a fun way of letting them all know how we're doing and what we are up to!

We have been very blessed over the past few years and our lives continue to grow and change together. This blog will mainly focus on our lives together, starting from when we first met, and all the new memories and experiences we will share in the future. I will probably do most of the writing, but who knows, maybe I can get Paul to write a few posts!

Feel free to read our posts and leave comments as you wish. Let me know how I'm doing as a blogger! Hope you all enjoy!
